Quantum-mechanical structure prediction
The idea to use quantum chemistry methods to study damaged DNA fragments was originally suggested to me by Suse Broyde at NYU.

Although we have finished working in this area, the work launched our applications of these methods to the study of atomic and molecular clusters and surface adsorbates.
